I’m a single mum of four.
I pay my bills and mortgage with no government assistance or child support.
And my days are infused with peace, joy and play.
This isn’t a fairy tale.
It’s what happens when we stop choosing between being successful and being soft.
For years, I did it the hard way.
Boss-babe energy. Pushing through. Performing. Holding it all together.
I was efficient, impressive… and I burnt out.
But then something shifted.
I started honouring the power of softness… in my work, my home, and most importantly, in myself.
It looked like:
- Gentle stretching when I woke
- Breathwork on the train
- Deep breaths between meetings
- Beautiful music in the background
- Saying no to hustle, and yes to harmony
- and mostly importantly, a deep dive into healing my wounded parts.
I structured my career in a way that made me feel nurtured and feminine.
I restructured our home life so it felt spacious instead of strained.
And here’s the truth that surprised me:
I achieved more in my business …because when I lead with heart, people are magnetised.
I experienced more success at work…because when the results speak for themselves, no one cares if you’re “on” for 8 hours or not.
I created deeper connections with my children … because none of us open up when we’re being rushed.
So many mothers ask me:
“But how do I do both? How do I succeed at work and stay close with my teen?”
And my answer is this:
Maybe the secret isn’t in doing more…
It’s in doing less, but doing it whole-heartedly.
Can we wash the dishes with our full presence?
Can we drive our child to school and be fully there for those ten minutes, no distractions, no agenda, just love?
What if it was never either/or?
What if the very softness that nurtures your teen… is also what magnetises your success?
This is what I’ve found to be true.
And if you’re curious – if this stirs something in you – you’re not alone.
With love,
Daniela & the Becoming Retreats team

Journaling/Reflection Prompts
What if I didn’t have to choose between success and softness?
- In what ways am I currently believing I need to sacrifice one part of myself (mother, professional, creative, woman) for another?
- What might become possible if I allowed my softness to lead — in work, in parenting, in my relationship with myself?
- Where could I invite more presence and intention into the small moments of my day?
Bonus:
Close your eyes. Place your hand on your heart.
Ask yourself gently: What does my softness want to say to me today?

Why Becoming Retreats?
As our children grow, so do the challenges…and the opportunities.
Sometimes their struggles mirror our own unhealed patterns.
Other times, we’re gripped by silent fears: Will they make good choices? Will we stay close? Will they be okay? At Becoming, we believe the most powerful way to support our children is to start with ourselves.
When a mother softens, heals, and reconnects with her own inner strength, her child feels it.
Whether you attend with your daughter, your son, or on your own, this retreat is a chance to pause, reflect, and transform.
Through guided workshops, movement, storytelling, and meaningful rituals, you’ll gain the tools to:
Communicate with more clarity and confidence
Understand your child’s inner world, and your own
Celebrate their coming of age with presence and love
Break generational patterns and create a new legacy of connection You’ll share unforgettable moments—laughing, learning, adventuring, and resting. You’ll make space for real conversations and create lifelong memories. And you’ll do it all in the company of like-minded mothers who are also walking this beautiful, brave path. Whether you’re navigating adolescence with your child or reclaiming your own Becoming…this retreat is for you.
Join us to embark on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and connection.
